The Beginning

I should pat myself on my shoulder for joining the blogosphere -- something I never thought I would do. But, here I am, quite intimidated, and now let's see if anyone would be interested in reading my posts on this and that. I chose this title, or heading, for my blog as I am interested in many cultural subjects, and also I follow the political turmoil here and elsewhere. 

Aware though that posts on politics might trigger unsavory, nasty comments from potential followers, I will not post anything on this matter. Let the knowledgeable pundits express their ideas, theories, and blast away as long and as much they want. I know that whatever happens in the world affects me, emotionally, when, for instance, things are getting cruel, when people starve in various parts of the planet or kill each other with mucho gusto. And yet, for a while at least, I'll post about the books I read. I will also play around with themes, customizing my blog for example, to see how to post pictures (I don't own a camera, yet, and I'm not sure my cell phone can download pics to my computer, I'll check this next week.)

I will also write something about my own writing, which presently is in kind of limbo, for various reasons, none being the much dreaded writer's block. It's not the writer's block, it's lack of time, although a much committed writer, beginner or not, might tell me, you must make time for writing. True.
